The support points are the specification that actually matters
Every machine going onto an ATV lift has places where the frame will take its own weight and places where it will not. A quad is supported under the frame rails, a snowmobile under the tunnel, and a side by side under the chassis, and getting that wrong bends something expensive.
This is why a 1500 pound ATV lift is bought with a specific machine in mind rather than by capacity alone. The question is not whether the table will hold the weight but whether the weight can be placed where the deck and the extensions can carry it.
How to lift a UTV for service is mostly a wheelbase problem
Side by side vehicles are long. A machine with a wheelbase approaching three meters will overhang a table designed around a quad at both ends, and the overhang is where the vehicle is heaviest rather than where it is lightest.
Positioning becomes deliberate as a result. The center of the vehicle goes over the center of the deck, and if only one axle can be supported properly then the other end belongs on stands rather than hanging off the edge of the platform.
Width is the other half of the same question
A utility side by side is considerably wider than the deck it sits on, so the extensions are carrying the wheels while the deck carries the middle. Working with one wheel unsupported puts a twisting load into a chassis that was never designed to be picked up that way.
An ATV lift for snowmobiles has no wheels to work with
A snowmobile rests on a track and two skis, none of which can be chocked or clamped the way a wheel can. It also cannot be rolled into position, so it either gets pushed on a dolly or lifted on, and the front end has almost no weight on it.
Support blocks under the tunnel are the standard answer. They spread the load along the strongest part of the machine, keep the track clear of the deck so it can be turned, and give the operator somewhere solid to work against when the suspension comes apart.
Getting a sled onto the deck is the awkward part. With no wheels there is nothing to roll, so it either slides on a set of rollers or gets winched, and the front end is light enough that it wanders sideways while the back is still being pushed.

Nobody wants a machine in the shop in January. Track, suspension, and clutch work happens through the summer months when the machine is not needed, which is exactly why a table that suits both a quad in August and a sled in September earns its floor space.

A zero turn mower carries most of its weight at the back, over the engine and the drive units, so it sits on a table with a load distribution nothing like a quad. Loading it front first puts almost nothing on the ramp end and everything on the far end of the deck.
Getting a heavy machine up there is the risky part
A short ramp is steeper than it looks, and a fifteen hundred pound machine that stalls partway up cannot be held by hand. Anything that will not drive on under its own power belongs on a winch line rather than being pushed by two people.
The deck is under the machine, which is the point and the limitation
A table raises a machine to a comfortable height and puts a solid platform between the operator and the underside of it. That suits wheel, suspension, brake, and body work, and it rules out anything that needs access from directly below.
Jobs under the belly still need stands or a hoist. Owners expecting to reach a skid plate or a drain plug from underneath discover the limitation on the first oil change.
The mechanical lock carries the load once it is up
Hydraulics hold pressure until a seal or a hose decides otherwise, which is why every table has a catch that takes the weight independently. Lowering onto that catch before anyone puts a hand under the machine is the habit that separates a platform from a hazard.
Air over hydraulic operation is common in this class and changes how the table is used rather than what it can lift. A foot pedal frees both hands to steady a machine as it rises, which on something tall and narrow is worth more than the speed the air supply adds.
